How to Test Price Modifiers

When creating or editing price modifiers, you will want to thoroughly test them before using them to submit production orders that will be billed to your customer. The Testing form is the first place to begin checking or troubleshooting a price modifier's settings and calculations inside the Price Modifier panelUse the following steps to access it:
  1. Go to the Prices list in OnTime Management Suite and select the Price Modifiers view from the Current View list located at the top of the navigation panel along the left side.
  2. Create and configure a new price modifier or open an existing one.
  3. If the Testing form has never been used or was previously collapsed, then click the link labeled: Show testing form.
  4. Enter a Base Price even if your price modifier does not directly use Base Price in its calculations or as a Field. If the base price isn't part of the price modifier you are currently testing, then it is okay to enter a zero to establish a base price of $0.00.
  5. If the price modifier uses a Field, enter a test amount in the corresponding test field.
  6. If the price modifier uses a field to Multiply again by, enter an amount in the corresponding test field.
  7. Click the Run Calculation Test button to see OnTime perform the calculation and its result in the box to the right of the Testing form.
