How to Create a Charge for Insurance

Some companies offer their clients the option of insurance based on the declared value of the item being shipped. OnTime allows administrators to create a price modifier to calculate the insurance cost based on the declared value entered.
To create an insurance price modifier based on the declared value, follow these steps:
  1. Open OnTime Management Suite.
  2. Select the Prices view.
  3. Ensure that the current view is set to Price Modifiers.
  4. Click the button labeled New Price Modifier.
  5. Enter a Name for the price modifier.
  6. Change the Calculation Type to Incremental Overage Amount.
  7. Set the Increment to indicate how often to apply the value. For example, if you want to charge for every 10 entered into the declared value field, enter a 10 into this field.
  8. Set the Field to Declared Value.
  9. Set the Amount to represent the amount you wish to apply to every increment. For example, if you want to charge $1 for every incremental increase, enter a 1.
  10. Save the price modifier.
