How to Create a Charge for Tips or Gratuity

Follow these steps to create a price modifier for adding any amount of a tip or gratuity to the total price:
  1. Open OnTime Management Suite.
  2. Select Prices from the navigation pane on the left.
  3. Set the Current View to Price Modifiers.
  4. Click the button labeled New Price Modifier.
  5. Name the price modifier accordingly (e.g. Tip).
  6. Leave the Type (found under the Advanced tab) set to General Option.
  7. Change the Calculation Type to Fixed Overage Amount.
  8. Enter 1.00 into the Amount field.
  9. Click the Multiply again by drop-down list and select Custom Amount.
  10. Save the price modifier.
Each order that employs this price modifier will have a custom amount field labeled with the name assigned in step 5. Entering the amount of the tip or gratuity in that custom amount field adds that amount to the total cost of the order.
