How to Update an OnTime Extension

OnTime Extensions are delivered as a file with an OTEX file type. OnTime Extensions may be installed on accounts subscribed to Professional or higher plans.
Use one of the following methods to update an extension:

Method 1: Automatic Update

Newer extensions may make use of the automatic updating feature, which makes it quick and easy to update extensions installed on a PC. To determine if an extension is published for automatic updates, check with the author of the extension.
  1. Start either OnTime Management Suite or OnTime Dispatch.
  2. Choose the Tools tab from the top of the application window.
  3. Click the button labeled Manage Extensions.
  4. In the lower-left corner of the Manage Extensions window, a link will appear to indicate if any updates are available for installed extensions.
  5. Click the update link to select and update extensions

Method 2: Manual Installation

  1. Double-click on the extension file (.OTEX file).
  2. OnTime will prompt for confirmation. Click the button labeled Install Extension to continue.
  3. The extension will then be installed on the local computer. Check the extension's documentation for information on how to access and use the updated extension from within OnTime.
Note: If OnTime is not running on the computer when an extension file is double-clicked, OnTime will start up automatically. In this case, you may need to sign in before the extension is completely updated.

Method 3: Manual Installation

  1. Start either OnTime Management Suite or OnTime Dispatch.
  2. Choose the Tools tab from the top of the application window.
  3. Click the button labeled Install Extension.
  4. Select the extension file (.OTEX file) and click Open.
  5. OnTime will prompt for confirmation. Click the button labeled Install Extension to continue.
  6. The extension will then be installed on the local computer. Check the extension's documentation for information on how to access and use the updated extension from within OnTime.
